RIO DE LA PLATA (USA) (26 Mar 2005) ch c

Rahy (USA) - Express Way (ARG) (Ahmad (ARG))
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor
FSF Rating: 151
Form: 311

Four-generation pedigree

Rio Del Plata is closely to several top-class Argentinean performers, including Grade One winner El Expresivo.

Following a quiet introduction on Newmarket July’s course, where he looked as green as grass, he proceeded to bolt up at same course over seven-furlongs. The form looks strong with several winners coming out of the race. The time was .04 of a second below the juvenile course record set in 1999.

Upped to Group Two Company at Goodwood he again impressed with an electric turn of foot at the two-furlong pole, coming clear clear and strolling home at his leisure. He will now be stepped up top Group One Company and it will take a very good colt to topple him. A fine physical specimen he will improve further and should stay ten-furlongs next season.
