| CANFORD CLIFFS | 121 | Lost his unbeaten record in the Prix Morny at Deauville where just over a length separated the five runners. Switched to races on the rails, Canford Cliffs battled away in the final furlong without ever doing enough to win. FSF ratings suggest he ran 4/5lb below his Coventry Stakes win. The ground was the quickest he has raced on and he had not run for ten weeks. I am of the opinion, he ran like a horse just in need of the race and in addition a seventh furlong. I hope see him run in the Dewhurst rather than the Middle Park. The former would provide the best clues to his 2000 Guineas credentials.
| ARCANO | 116 | Upped his game for his new owner to take the Prix Morny. At halfway, Hills appeared to deliberately switch to race behind Canford Cliffs. However, he soon moved back to chase Special Duty. In the final furlong Hills organised the colt for one final thrust getting up close home to win, in my opinion, a shade cleverly. Whilst looking as though he should stay a mile on breeding, Arcano has the physical appearance of a sprinter. His next run, hopefully in the Dewhurst, should be illuminating.
| JEALOUS AGAIN | 115 | Jealous Again shot out the stalls at Royal Ascot and never saw another rival; she has now joined Godolphin. Misheer, who was five lengths behind her, won the Cherry Hinton on her next outing, franking the form in no uncertain terms. Her breeding suggests she will stay six and seven-furlongs, though a mile may stretch her.
| SHOWCASING | 112 | Clocked an excellent time when winning the Gimcrack at York. He is bred and looks like an out and out sprinter; his chances of staying a mile next year, in my opinion, are not good. One of many top-class juveniles, the Group One races this autumn are going to prove highly competitive.
| LADY OF THE DESERT | 112 | Produced an excellent display of power running when the Lowther Stakes at York in good style. Whilst she looks sure to stay a mile, I am not sure if she is built for the job. A light-framed filly she on the small side and we may see the best of her this season.
| SPECIAL DUTY | 111 | Tried hard to make all in the Prix Morny but was nailed on the line by Arcano. She has the physical attributes to stay a mile and her breeding back that up. Croquette Head knows what it takes to win the 1,000 Guineas. I would imagine if that is the long-term plan she, will be jumping on Eurostar at some stage this autumn.
| ZANZIBARI | 111 | Ran well in the Prix Morny but looks in need of a step up in trip. If he continues to improve, one of the better juvenile races over a mile could fall his way
| ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL | 110 | Followed up his win at Newmarket with another power packed finish in the Acomb. The fast pace set by Poet’s Voice, enabled him to come from way off the pace, as the leader wilted in the final furlong. Nevertheless, he did the job well and looks sure to improve further over a mile. A big colt with scope he should make a top-class three-year-old and the 2,000 Guineas is certainly a viable target at this stage.
| ORPEN GREY | 110 | Ran well below form in the Gimcrack. He may have just needed the race and I felt he found the ground too lively. A likeable sort, he is worth another chance.
| EMERALD COMMANDER | 110 | Improving all the time and possesses the scope and size to develop into a top-class three-year-old.
| MONSIEUR CHEVALIER | 109 | Consistent, but has now been found out at Group Two level twice; this may be the summit of his FSF figure.
| DOLLED UP | 109 | Consistent Group Three winner who found Arcano and chums too good for her at Deauville. Nevertheless, for a filly that is bred to stay a mile and appreciate easier ground, she was far from disgraced
| POET'S VOICE | 108 | Burst through the stalls prior to the Acomb Stakes and returned with a cut on his gums. In the race itself, he probably ran too freely and failed to get home. A drop back to six-furlongs perhaps in the Middle Park may seem him in an even better light.
| XTENSION | 108 | Continues to improve and ran out a comfortable and impressive winner of the Richmond Stakes. The form has been let down by the placed horses, Group Two looks his right level at present.
| RADIOHEAD | 107 | Improved on his Ascot running when a fast finishing third in the Nunthorpe. A big powerful colt, he should be up to winning again in Group company this season. The Middle Park looks an ideal target, as he should appreciate the step up to six-furlongs. It should not be forgotten, the York race was his first since Ascot.
| COLONIAL | 107 | Colonial followed up an effortless win at Chantilly with an equally impressive performance at Longchamp in a Listed race. Always going well within himself, he led a furlong and a half from home, quickly clearing away from his field. A son of Cape Cross, his dam was a Group Three winning filly before getting touched off in the Coronation Stakes. A mile should be within his capabilities this season and he looks the sort to progress again.
| MISHEER | 107 | Misheer ran well at Royal Ascot before taking the Cherry Hinton in comfortable style. Always travelling well, she led two-furlongs from home and came away in the closing stages. While she should stay seven-furlongs, a mile may be more of a problem; on her toes beforehand, she is not without her share of temperament.
| DICK TURPIN | 107 | Continues to improve and ran away with a valuable Sales race at Fairyhouse. A fine looking colt, he has the scope to improve further and should not be under-estimated wherever he turns up next. Clearly effective on easy ground both his sire and dam appreciated a faster surface.
| LONG LASHES | 104 | Made quite hard work of winning the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket last time out. Nevertheless, that was her first run for the stable and she looks sure to improve further over a mile. In addition, she looked green in the closing stages and gave the impression there was plenty left in the tank.
| TAAJUB | 104 | Improving and while no match for Showcasing he looks more than capable of winning at a decent level.
| AZMEEL | 103 | Following his maiden win, Azmeel was sent to Newbury for the Washington Singer Stakes. I took a liking to him in both the paddock and the race itself. A good-looking, powerful, colt with scope, he used his long stride to dismiss the opposition with some degree of ease. Both his sire and dam stayed middle-distances; while he may not have the speed to win a Group One this season, he looks an excellent long-range prospect for the 2010 Derby.
