Filly on trial at Lingfield

Filed on 10 May 2007 @ 08:56

Hello again.

Lets hope we have another decent weekend because the racing is very good.

Before discussing the Fayre I must tell you that on my customary visit to Waitrose the other afternoon; lo and behold, I bumped into Geoff Huffer buying even more champagne.

Visitors to the yard have been thick and fast since the heroic Guineas run last week. Its good to see Geoff in such great form.He thinks the Irish 2000gns is next.

It's Classic Trial weekend at Lingfield and we have some excellent racing.

Speaking of the word 'trial' I remember being in Spain some years ago, with a friend waiting for a game of tennis. Over the tannoy a voice said 'would Mr ...... please go to court number 3'. I said to my mate 'I wish he'd have inserted the word 'tennis' before that horibble word court.' We had a good laugh I can tell you!

Those of you who backed Michael Jarvis's filly Folk Opera from our dark horse list will notice that those vigilant people from Godolphin have transfered her, since that impressive debut at Newbury, to the royal blue colours. She is certainly talented and appears in the Oaks Trial at Lingfield on Saturday.

On Friday I like the look of Noseda's Truly Enchanting in the 4.10 at Nottingham. She should really be bound for higher places if winning well enough here.

Michael Quinlan's speedy juvenile Rebel Acclaim will be hard to peg back in the Nottingham 2.30.

Dianne Weedon has a small string in the Hamilton Road and the best of these could turn out to be Brouhaha who will win a race. He has shaped much better than his form lines suggest and could be one to keep an eye on in low class handicaps The horse has size and scope and ability, all of which are yet to be transformed. He runs again in the 4.55 at Lingfield on Friday.

Next week we have the spring York meeting. I anticipate having a few tasty ones for you at the Knavesmire so keep in touch.

Best Wishes
