Huffer's colt Shines at LingfieldFiled on 26 Apr 2007 @ 08:13
Geoff Huffer was delighted with the racecourse gallop at Lingfield on Wednesday when his 2000 Guineas hope Cockney Rebel easily disposed of Banjo Patterson, his lead horse. The lack of rain here at HQ had tempted Geoff to make the journey to Lingfield early on Wednesday morning, and he was rewarded with a scintillating show. "He should go well" said Geoff "he's in grand form." I have been taken with the recent gallops of John Gosden's Tybalt who is likely to run in Fridays Esher Cup at Sandown. He looks capable of going very close in this competitive handicap and is quietly fancied. Henry Cecil looks to have his string in fine form and keep an eye out for Many Volumes this weekend probably Saturday.
