Record Tattersalls HIT Sale concludes with 16% rise in aggregate

The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale continued in strong fashion on Thursday's final day, albeit at a lower level than the previous three days. The final session saw 186 lots sold for 1,288,800 guineas at an average of 6,929 guineas and a median of 4,500 guineas. The clearance for the day stood at 89%, marginally ahead of the clearance rate for the sale which was a remarkable 88%. The four day sale saw a total of 922 lots sell for a record 24,304,100 guineas, which was a 16% increase on the 2013 renewal. The average and median also rose, by 13% and 30% respectively to 26,360 guineas and 13,000 guineas.

Son of Hurricane Run sells for 425,000 gns as median rises 43%

The third day of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale saw a record turnover for a session at the sale with 256 lots sold for 10,032,000 guineas. The major indicators were all up on the corresponding session last year with the average up 33% to 39,188 guineas and the median up 43% to 20,000 guineas. The top priced lot for the day and the sale was Havana Cooler at 425,000 guineas who was one of five lots to sell for 300,000 guineas or more. As was the case yesterday, the clearance was outstanding at 90%.

Aggregate rises 15% as 19 lots fetch six-figure sums

The action stepped up a notch on Tuesday's second day of the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale with nineteen lots selling for 100,000 guineas or more, including three that doubled that figure. A total of 250 lots were sold for 7,532,300 guineas, a rise of 15% on the corresponding session last year, whilst the average rose 8% to 30,129 guineas and the median stayed constant at 16,000 guineas. The clearance was an impressive 90%.

Median rises 40% as clearance rate rises to 85%

The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale got off to a strong start on Monday with eight lots topping six-figures and the median and average both well up. A total of 230 lots were sold for 5,451,000 guineas, at an average of 23,700 guineas and a median of 14,000 guineas. The average and median rose of 11% and 40% respectively compared with last year’s opening session.

Final Line becomes Dylan Thomas's second Italian Group One winner in a week, following Dylan Mouth's Gran Premio del Jockey Club success at Milan.

Elm Park was the first Group winner, and becomes the first Group One winner, for his sire Phoenix Reach, who covered just nine mares this year.
