New sires for 2007 | New sires for 2008 | Fee tables - all sires Indesatchel (IRE)Danehill Dancer - Floria, by Petorius Twice winner at Group Three from a family proficient over a mileIndesatchel worked hard during his first season, running seven times in good company, but all he had to show for it was a single victory, in a maiden at the Curragh. However, he was Listed and Group placed several times behind such adversaries as Ad Valorem, Oratorio and Albert Hall, so obviously possessed a reasonable talent. He was quick off the mark in his second season, scoring a quick treble – a Listed and two Group 3s – before running the race of his life when runner-up to the outstanding Shamardal in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains, beaten only a head from a bad draw and with a far from straightforward run. Sadly, he was never able to reproduce that form in public again, even at Listed level in 2006, but connections obviously believed in him as he was competing in Group 1 company again on his final start. His pedigree is not out of the top drawer, but it has produced a horse who, at his best, was very good. And he is by a sire who has delivered high class performers from very ordinary mates over his first few seasons, so who knows what Indesatchel will do in the future. His dam, a good example of the kind of mares who visited Danehill Dancer early on, ran, to no avail, in National Hunt flat races and over hurdles, but has produced three winners on the flat, a sister to our subject and then, after her export, a filly by Monashee Mountain who won in Turkey as a juvenile. However, her dam was Group 3 placed and was a sister to smart performers in Spring hill, Spring Haven and Stratosphere. Indesatchel’s fourth dam bred the useful Tolspring, who retired to stud in Australia and five other winners. Most of the family seem to have been proficient at around a mile, and that kind of speed, so much in demand nowadays, should be a major plus for Indesatchel. Race record
