Three-parts brother to Invincible Spirit

Tony O’Callaghan excels at discovering stallion prospects and he may well have struck gold again with Kodiac.

The horse could hardly be better bred for the job, being a three-parts brother to the amazing first season sire Invincible Spirit. Not only that, he is a half-brother to six other winners, five of them black type, his dam was a French Classic winner and herself half-sister to another five black type performers, including the Danehill filly Al Anood, Listed placed in Australia. The next dam bred champion sire Pitcairn, sire of Ela-Mana-Mou, among others.

Not only has Kodiac got the pedigree and the sire, he has a reasonable race record, winning four times, once at two, and running second to Fayr Jag in the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes, only a quarter of a length back. He was also a close fourth to Osterhase in the Phoenix Sprint Stakes.

His yearling half-brother by Red Ransom, now named By Command, was bought in for 100,000 guineas at Tattersalls October Part I sale last year.
