A son of Presenting from Jimmy Murphy's Redpender Stud was the top lot of the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale held in a new three day format for the first time this year. Margaret O'Toole went to €255,000 for the sale topper and was also responsible for several more high priced stores, including geldings by Kayf Tara, lot 212 for €160,000 and by Flemensfirth, lot 357 for €155,000.

Australia, 27 June 2008 The William Inglis Australian Select Weanling Sale concluded today with the average rising further on yesterday’s strong figure. Overall, the Select Weanling Sale generated turnover of almost $7.7million. The average rose to $33,732 by the conclusion of the Select sale, representing a 31% climb on the Select Weanling Sale from 2007.

Average declines slightly in a tight marketGoffs Land Rover & June National Hunt Sale drew to a close on Thursday with a good moving son of Flemensfirth (Lot 723) leading proceedings when purchased by Fethard Bloodstock for €25,000. The Clonbur House consigned three-year-old is out of a Supreme Leader dam from the family of Grade One winning Novice Chaser Southern Vic. Aidan O’Ryan later paid €19,000 for a filly by French sire Take Risks out of a half sister to Talina’s Law who was twice a Listed winning hurdler.

A son of SLEEPING CAR topped the DBS Spring Store Sales when selling to Highflyer Bloodstock for 86,000. The three year old, named ROCK'N'ROLL BLUE, was consigned by Mocklershill Stables and was out of a half sister to IRIS BLEU, winner of the Listed Badger Ales Trophy Chase at Wincanton and comes from a strong National Hunt family that includes LAMIE BLEUE and MUSICA BELLA. Paul Webber was among those who showed interest in the gelding, but it was Anthony Bromley who made the final bid when standing with Paul Nicholls, who has bought him for an existing owner.

The DBS Spring Horses-in-Training Sale set another world record on Wednesday when Howard Johnson bid £370,000 for PRESENTING FOREVER, smashing the previous World record for a Point-to-Pointer. The son of Presenting was a close second over two and a half miles on his first start in a Point-to-Point at Oldcastle before he followed this up by easily winning a three mile Maiden Point-to-Point at Templemore by five lengths and he is sure to prove himself under National Hunt rules next year.
