Eurosilver colt tops final session of F-T Midlantic Breeze-Up

The two day Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of two-year-olds in training concluded on Tuesday with, in the context of results achieved by mnay other breeze-up sales this year, only moderate declines.

Overall 247 horses were sold for an aggregate of $10,522,500. The average of $42,601 was 11.7% down on last year, and the median declined by 10.7% to $25,000. The catalogie had been reduced from 650 last year to 500.

The buy-back rate saw a significant decline from 34.1% in 2008 to 23.1%.

A colt from the first crop of Eurosilver topped the fimal session when selling to New York-based bloodstock agent Steven W. Young for $280,000. The colt was consigned by Florida pinhooker Eddie Woods and is out of the Not For Love mare Dolly by Golly and is a half-brother to the winners Buc the Spartan and Ecton.
