Milan gelding again tops at Land Rover SaleFiled on 12 Jun 2008 @ 09:38
Solid trade on the second day of Goffs Land Rover Sale was once again capped by a gelding from the first crop of sire Milan. Kevin Ross went to €70,000 to secure the Summerhill-consigned three year old (Lot 393) out of thirteen time winning mare Tri Folene, who was also placed in the Kim Muir Chase at Cheltenham. A son of Flemensfirth meanwhile made €44,000 when knocked down to trainer Henry De Bromhead. The gelding (Lot 483) is out of a Supreme Leader dam and hails from the family of St Leger winner Giolla Mear. Jeremy Brummitt paid €34,000 for a smashing Bob Back filly (Lot 354) out of a half sister to Gold Cup hero Imperial Call. She was consigned by Norrismount Stud on behalf of Clonogan House Stud. Another to make the €34,000 figure was Lot 463 from Galbertstown Stud – a four year old Blueprint half brother to four time winning and Grade One placed novice hurdler Strontium. Turnover on day two reached €2,735,900, with an average of €15,370 and median price of €14,000. Filed on 12 Jun 2008 @ 09:38
