Classic Trial G3 - Master Apprentice

This is the first stakes win for progressive Andrew Balding-trained Master Apprentice. A €33,000 Goffs foal, he sold there for €44,000 as a yearling and is the first foal out of the Hawk Wing mare Lady Hawkfield, a 62,000 gns broodmare purchase and a half sister to dual Group One (Coronation and Matron Stakes) winner Lillie Langtry and to Listed winner Count Of Limonade. Further back, this is the family of Vaguely Noble.

This is the first stakes winner from Mastercraftsman's second crop - his first crop has yielded seven, at a 7% strike rate.

Sandown Mile G2 - Custom Cut

Bred by Moyglare Stud, Custom Cut failed to win in six starts for Dermot Weld before being sold at Goffs for €5,800. He ran up a four-timer over seven furlongs in 2012 and won the Group Three Gladness Stakes in 2013, selling at Tattersalls that October for 95,000 gns, and ran up a five timer at stakes level for his new connections last term. He is a half brother to Group Two British Champions Fillies and Mares winner Sapphire and to the well-regarded one-time Derby hope Free Eagle out of a winning Danehill sister to Grade One Matriarch Stakes winner Dress To Thrill and half sister to the Listed-placed Act Of Defiance. The next dam is Group One Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Trusted Partner, who in turn is a half sister to Group winners Easy To Copy and Low Key Affair, out of dual Grade One winner Talking Picture.

Custom Cut is the leading performer for Notnowcato, and one of three stakes winners for the Eclipse winner.

Gordon Richards Stakes G3 - Western Hymn

A winning return for the John Gosden-trained four-year-old Western Hymn, who won the Group Three Classic Trial and the Group Two Prix Eugene Adam in a three year old campaign that concluded with a fourth place in the Champion Stakes. A 50,000 gns Tattersalls yearling purchase, he is a half brother to the winner Blue Nova out of the winning Cape Cross mare Blue Rhapsody, herself a half sister to multiple Group Three winner Fantasia and Group Three winner Pink Symphony. The next dam, Blue Duster, won the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes and is an own sister to Middle Park winner Zieten.

This is the second Group winner of the season for High Chaparral, and one of five stakes winners from his 2011 crop.

Greenham Stakes L - Muhaarar

The winner of a Doncaster maiden on debut, Muhaarar was third behind Ivawood in the July Stakes, and filled that position in the Listed Winkfield Stakes before winning the Gimcrack at York last August. He was third in the Middle Park, with Ivawood in second, but emphatically turned the tables on that rival today. He is a half brother to Listed winner Sajwah and to two Listed placegetters, out of a Listed-placed Linamix mare, herself a half sister to Group Three winner Mister Sacha and Listed winner Mister Charm. The second dam, Miss Sacha, is a Listed winner, and the third dam is a half sister to multiple Group One winner Timarida.

Muhaarar is one of five stakes winners from Oasis Dreams 2012 crop, his first to be covered at a fee of £85,000.

Fred Darling Stakes G3 - Redstart

A major step forward for the Ralph Beckett-trained Redstart, who won a Kempton maiden on her last start last November. She is a half sister to four winners out of a winning Pursuit Of Love half sister to winners. The next dam is a half sister to three Listed winners, including Irish St Leger winner Waterfield.

This is the first stakes winner for National Stud resident Cockney Rebel.

John Porter Stakes G3 - Arab Spring

Arab Spring ran up a four-timer last summer, culminating with victory in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap at Royal Ascot, before finishing fourth in Group Two company at Newmarket's July meeting last time. He is a half brother to Group Three Gordon Richards Stakes winner Glass Harmonium, out of the winning Darshaan mare Spring Symphony, herself a half sister to multiple Group One winner Conduit and Group Two winner Hard Top. The next dam is an unraced half sister to Spectrum, Stream Of Gold, as well as the dam of Petrushka.

The second dam is an unraced half sister to Hardwicke winner Sandmason and Listed winner Sardegna, out of Lancashire Oaks winner Sandy Island, a half sister to Slip Anchor.

This is Shamardal's first winner as a broodmare sire.

This is the third Listed winner of the season for Dutch Art and the fourth from his 2012 crop - his third, covered at a career low of £5,000. The Cheveley Park resident stands at £40,000 this season.

Jeremy i smaking a name for himself as a jumps sire, and has five stakes winners on the Flat - with this his second Group Three winner of the week after Success Day's Ballysax Stakes victory.

He is a half brother to a winner out of an unraced Dansili half sister to Bannister, himself the winner of the Gimcrack in 2000. The second dam is a half sister to Dead Certain, winner of the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes.

Astaire remains the sole stakes winner to date for Intense Focus, who has a career AEI of 1.9.
