A Juddmonte homebred, Special Duty is out of the once raced maiden Quest To Peak, a half sister to seven time Grade One winner Sightseek and Grade One winner Tates Creek. Special Duty had shown enough at home to make her debut in the Listed Prix Yacowlef on debut, where she was second, before winning the Group Two Prix Robert Papin and finishing a neck second to Arcano in the Prix Morny.

This is the sole European stakes winner of the season for the late Hennessy, 56% of whose wins come over 5-6f and who has three winners from 15 European runners in 2009.
