This is the first stakes win for Ernest Hemingway, who was an impressive winner on debut last year, but finished last in the Dante next time out. Given a break, he was 16th in the Arc, but has shown better form this year prior to this step up to 14f. He is the first foal out of the Group One-placed Group Three winner Cassydora, a $1.35m Keeneland broodmare purchase and a half sister to Listed winner Classic Remark out of Group Two Premio Lydia Tesio winner Claxon. The next dam, Bulaxie, won the Group Three Fred Darling and is a half sister to the granddam of multiple Group One winner Zoffany.
