A winner at Salisbury on debut last time, Bronterre sold for 100,000 gns as a foal at Tattersalls and fetched 110,000 gns there the following year as a yearling. He is the first winner out of the winning Royal Academy mare Wondrous Story, a half sister to three-time Group Three winner Musicale and the Group Two-placed winner Theatre Script, out of a winning half sister to triple Group One-winning sprinter Committed, herself the dam of Santa Anita Grade One winner Pharma and granddam of multiple Grade One winner English Channel.

This win forms part of a stakes double for Oasis Dream, whose son Power won the Group One National Stakes in Ireland (see below).
