Arqana sale posts new records for turnover and average
The Arqana August Yearling Sale concluded on Monday with turnover reaching the record figure of €41,456,500 (including private sales). The average price also improved from 2008 to reach €114,778 over the four days of selling, while the median registered a significant 7% growth to settle at €75,000.

Fasig-Tipton Sale rebounds in second session
The Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale at Saratoga closed with declines of 20% from last year. Sunday's second session saw trade rebound, virtually matching 2008's levels, after a calamitous 40% drop in Saturday's session.

Strong trade includes rare European sale of Redoute's Choice colt
The second session of the Deauville August Yearling Sale on Saturday saw trade almost match the record levels of 2008. Overall 77 lots sold from the 105 offered for an aggregate of €9,385,000, a 5% decline from lat year. The median was unchanged at €100,000 whilst the average dropped from €130,962 to €121,883. 12 lots passed the €200,000 mark against 13 in 2008. Turnover for the first two sessions remains €1,5 million Euros clear of the 2008 figures.
