Clearance rate remains high as sale average declines by 15%

Lively trade on the concluding day of the 2009 Tattersalls July Sale saw three lots realise 150,000 guineas or more, turnover of 1,964,800 guineas, an average of 12,842 guineas, median of 6,500 guineas and yet again an outstanding clearance rate of 90%. The cumulative turnover for the three day sale was 5,546,700 guineas with an average of 12,664 guineas, 14.5% down on last year, a median of 6,500 guineas, down from 7,900 guineas last year, and a clearance rate of 87%

Halling gelding Time Machine tops second session of July Sale

The three-year-old Halling gelding Time Machine topped proceeding’s on the second day of the Tattersalls July Sale, on a day that saw plenty of competition for the lots on offer and an excellent clearance rate of 91%. A total of 136 lots were sold for 1,700,000 guineas at an average of 12,500 guineas and a median of 7,500 guineas. Whilst the aggregate dropped by five per cent, the average climbed by eight per cent and the median by three per cent compared with last year's figures.

Figures down but clearance rate a healthy 81%

The Tattersalls July Sale got off to a brisk start on the opening day with 149 lots sold for 1,881,900 guineas, a 57% decline on last year, at an average of 12,630 guineas, down 41% on 2008 and a median of 5,000 guineas. The first day saw plenty of interest from abroad which helped raise the clearance rate to a healthy 81%, or 85% if you include private sales.
