An Accordion lands Doncaster gambleFiled on 26 Jan 2008 @ 19:13
Cheltenham countdown - news digest An Accordion landed a public gamble in the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster on Saturday, and gave trainer David Pipe another big Saturday winner. The seven-year-old took the advantage after Idle Talk tired three out, but had to fight hard to see of Ungaro, who took the lead after An Accordion made a mistake at the last. Johnny Farrelly regalvanized An Accordion to a final effort that saw him win by half a length. Earlier Tazbar won the Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle, beating the 2-5 favourite Khyber Kim, who had been so impressive at Newbury, into fourth. Khyber Kim moved into second after the fifth flight but found nothing off the bridle. Trainer Nicky Henderson said: That was not the same horse that won at Newbury and it's our job to get him back to how he was. He travelled turning in but was very flat two out. It's too early to say what happened but there are no excuses." Filed on 26 Jan 2008 @ 19:13
