Attenborough set for greater things after Haydock maiden win

The Jeremy Noseda-trained Attenborough (Medaglia d'Oro) looks as though he could make his mark at stakes level after winning the Haydock mile maiden on Thursday.

Ridden by George Baker, the son of Medaglia d'Oro travelled well and showed a likeable attitude to get the better of Badea by half a length.

Fiona Shaw, racing manager for owner Earle I Mack, said of the Group Two Royal Lodge entry: "We've thought a lot of him for a while and I think there's a good bit of improvement there.

"He ought to make up into a nice stakes horse somewhere along the line."
