Belle Et Celebre breaks maiden in Prix Saint-AlaryFiled on 18 May 2008 @ 15:41
The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained Belle Et Celebre (Peintre Celebre - Rotina, by Crystal Glitters) saw off strong opposition to break her maiden in the Group One Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp on Sunday and earned a possible tilt at the Prix de Diane. Christophe Lemaire made all the running on the Peintre Celebre filly, going for home in the straight and resisting the challenge of Gagnoa to register a three quarter of a length victory. Proviso was third, a neck adrift, after a slow start. Belle Et Celebre joins Prix Hocquart winner Democrate and Prix Greffulhe winner Prospect Wells in breaking her maiden in Group company. Christophe Lemaire said after the race: "We knew that nobody wanted to make the running. My flly was able to do so, and the blinkers relaexed her. I went for home as early as possible. I think she could step up in trip from this." Filed on 18 May 2008 @ 15:41
