At the end of a lengthy battle, favorite Brametot (Rajsaman) finished ahead of Brivido at the finish of the Abu Dhabi Group One Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Deauville on Sunday in the colors of Al Shaqab Racing and GĂ©rard Augustin -Norman.

Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget and ridden by Cristian Demuro, Brametot got the better of Le Brivido (Siyouni), by a short head, with Rivet taking third.

Rouget said: "It has been very hard with the virus in the yard but this horse was not in the problem barn, or else he wouldn't be running.

"He has an outstanding pedigree and I think he is a right horse for the Jockey Club."

William Haggas said of Rivet: "He ran a commendable race and improved from his first race of the season.

"He was all right on that ground but it appears now he wants further in trip.

"He's a strong, galloping horse, but we must now see what he's like over a mile and a quarter.

"We had planned to go to the Irish Guineas, but I think we'll now probably come back here for the French Derby."
