Cheyenne Star takes Brownstown StakesFiled on 3 Jul 2008 @ 09:20
Five-year-old mare Cheyenne Star (Mujahid - Charita, by Lycius) added a second Group Three to her CV when winning the Brownstown Stakes over 7f at Leopardstown on Wednesday evening. Trained by Frances Crowley and ridden by Seamus Heffernan, Cheyenne Star moved into contention turning for home and joined fellow Group Three winner Age Of Chivalry at the head of affairs. The winner showed a useful turn of foot to surge clear in the final 150 yards, winning by a length and a quarter. Dimenticata stayed on for third. Crowley said after the race: "We'll now have a look at the Matron Stakes and we'd be hopeful of getting a place in a Group One with her." Filed on 3 Jul 2008 @ 09:20
