Six-year-old gelding Chopastair (Astair - Very Sol, by Solicitor) got off the mark in Listed company in the Prix du Pont du Jour-Fourrages Thierry Dutertre at Craon in September, and he went one better at Saint-Cloud on Thursday, winning the Group Three Prix Perth over a mile.

Chopastair was always prominent behind the early pace set by Hujum, before quickening in the straight. Cicerole went with him, but Chopastair had first run and was always in command, winning comfortably. Athanor made up a lot of gorund late on to finish third.
