First black-type winner for Le Vie Dei ColoriFiled on 2 Jul 2009 @ 08:27
Perfect Story wins the Golden Fleece StakesStallion statistics: Le Vie Dei Colori First crop sire Le Vie Dei Colori had his first stakes winner when Perfect Symmetry (Le Vie Dei Colori — Wide Range, by Spectrum) beat En Un Clin D'Oeil's by a length to win the Listed Golden Fleece Stakes at Fairyhouse on Thursday evening. The Gey Lyons-trained winner ran on well but took advantage when the front-running En Un Clin D'Oeil hung badly left in the straight, losing more than the winning margin by doing so. Lyons said: "I didn't see Joanna's horse coming up the stands rail - I was very relieved. I made a mistake of running him at Dundalk first time. "He is only recently coming into himself and winning this race was a real bonus. He will make a smashing three-year-old." Lyons had earlier saddled Bankrobber to victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden, and will look to win a Listed race with the colt. A €20,000 Goffs yearling, Perfect Symmetry is a half brother to a winner out of a placed half sister to Group Two Great Voltigeur winner Air Marshall and Group Three winner Break Bread. First season sire Le Vie Dei Colori has five winners in Europe so far, and this is his first stakes winner. The son of Efisio had 19 yearlings sell for an average of £14,700 with a top price of £50,000 last year and he is now the leading non-Coolmore sire on our list of leading first crop sires in 2009. He is also the leading son of Efisio at stud this year. Filed on 2 Jul 2009 @ 08:27
