Newsells Park Stud’s dual Group One King’s Stand Stakes winner Equiano had his first foal born on 15th January. A filly out of the Listed winning mare, Clifton Dancer, was born at Tweenhills Farm & Stud.

David Redvers, Tweenhills’ stud manager said: “She is a correct, attractive filly with plenty of presence. We’re very pleased with her.”

Julian Dollar, Newsells’ general manager said: “We are delighted to hear that Equiano’s first foal is healthy and correct, and we look forward to seeing more of his foals over the forthcoming months. With the incredible success of Acclamation and his leading first season sire son, Dark Angel, Equiano’s sire line is on fire at the moment and as the fastest and highest rated horse from this sire line, it is no surprise that Equiano has yet another full book in 2012.”

Equiano has just returned from shuttling to Swettenham Stud in Australia where he was also popular covering nearly 100 mares. He will be on parade at the TBA Stallion Parade at Tattersalls on Thursday 2nd February, as will Newsells Park Stud’s other resident sire Mount Nelson.
