Dansili filly posts career high in Fairyhouse Group Three

Stallion statistics: Dansili

The Charles O'Brien-trained four-year-old Dansili filly Glowing (Dansili — Brightest, by Rainbow Quest) caused a 20-1 upset in a strong renewal of the Group Three Irish Stallion Farms EBF Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse on Thursday evening.

Ridden by Fran Berry, Glowing raced prominently before taking an advantage at the furlong marker. She then stayed on strongly to deny the persistent challenge of Dermot Weld's Luminous Eyes, winning by a short head.

This was a third win and first stakes win for the filly, who won at Dundalk on her seasonal debut before finishing fourth in a Listed race at Leopardstown.

O'Brien said after the race: "It was a pretty hot race and I wasn't expecting her to win. She's improving all of the time - her attitude is improving.

"This filly has grown up a lot this year, she was a big child last year. This was a decent race and no soft touch.

"Her ideal trip is over seven furlongs or a mile. She is from a stamina-laden family, but speed is obviously her game. She may go to the Sales at Newmarket, we will have to see what the owners want to do."

A 160,000 gns Tattersalls yearling, Glowing is a half sister to a placed runner out of the placed mare Brightest, a daughter of champion three-year-old filly Wemyss Bight, winner of four Group races including the Group One Irish Oaks, and a half sister to multiple Group/Grade One winner Beat Hollow and Grade Three winner Yaralino. Wemyss Bight is from an excellent Juddmonte family and is a half sister to the dams of Oasis Dream and Reefscape.

This is the sixth stakes winner of the season for Dansili, who has 56 individual winners in Europe so far this term - but has yet to have a juvenile winner. With his average earnings per start 22% up on lst year, the Juddmonte sire looks set to improve on last year when he was tenth on the general sires' list.
