This is a first Group win for Alandi, whose three-year-old half sister Aliyfa was second to him in the Listed Ballycorus Stakes before winning the Listed Oyster Stakes herself. Their dam Aliya was a Listed-winning own sister to the disqualified Oaks winner Aliysa, who was later to become the dam of Desert Story and Alaiyda, who in turn became the dam of Classic winner Alamshar.

Galileo has 17 stakes winners this year, the same as when he was champion sire last year. Without a star of New Approach's quality, his leading earner this year is Rip Van Winkle. Third on the European general sires' list, this win moves him to the head of the list of leading sires of stayers.
