Harrington wins with Jumbajukiba

Jessica Harrington's five-year-old Jumbajukiba (Barathea - Danseuse Du Soir, by Thatching) improved with every run last season, progressing to win the Group Three Solonoway Stakes.

Making his seasonal debut, the gelding made all to win the Group Three Castlemartin & La Louverie Studs Gladness Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday, going clear at halfway and quickening clear to win by three and a half lengths.

Major Cadeaux travelled strongly in the early stages but couldn't land a blow on the winner, finishing second, ahead of the 4-5 favourite US Ranger in third.

Harrington said after the race: "We decided to make the running today because he stays a mile. Fran Berry said the horse was fresh and pulled hard in early stages and began to get tired late on, but he was entitled to.

"We have entered him in a Group Three here and at Leopardstown and we will keep running him while the ground stays soft and then maybe give him a break for the autumn."

Third Listed win for Red Moloney

Four-year-old Red Moloney (Sahm - Roja, by L'Enjoleur) flopped in the Winter Derby after a successful campaign last year that saw him garner two Listed prizes. He added to that today ith victory in the Listed Ascon Rohcon Alleged Stakes, wearing down Deauville Vision in the closing stages to get up by a length and a quarter. The favourite, Aidan O'Brien's Macarthur never got into contention.

Georgebernardshaw scores by seven lengths for O'Brien

After a number of reverses here and at Longchamp, Aidan O'Brien scored with Georgebernardshaw (Danehill Dancer - Khamseh, by Thatching), an impressive winner of his maiden on the first day of the season last month who improved to beat Croi Mo Ri by seven lengths without being extended.
