John Best's Kingsgate Native (Mujadil - Native Force, by Indian Ridge) burst clear of the field in good style to win the Group One Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes over five furlongs at York. The only two year old in the race took full advantage of his allowance, racing off 8-1 under Jimmy Quinn, to become the first juvenile winner since Lyric Fantasy in 1992.

Kingsgate Native was having his third start, having been narrowly beaten in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes on his debut and beaten by Lowther third Fleeting Spirit in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood.

Kingsgate Native was a 20,000 guineas yearling out of Native Force, a winner over a mile and herself out of a half-sister to the 1000 Guineas winner Las Meninas.

His sire Mujadil stands at Rathasker Stud, who also stand Clodovil, sire of earlier Lowther Stakes winner Nahoodh.
