The ten-year-old Knowhere (Lord Americo - Andarta, by Ballymore) won the Grade two Letheby & Christoper Chase (The Cotswold Chase) over 3m 1f at Cheltenham on Saturday, showing his love of the track where he won a handicap in November and where he has been placed in both the Paddy Power Gold Cup and the Boylesports.com Gold Cup.

Ruby Walsh led the eight runners on Neptune Collonges, having his first start since winning the Punchestown Gold Cup, but he made a jumping error coming down the hill, allowing Our Vic to take the lead. Our Vic's stamina gave way after the last, allowing Paddy Brennan on Knwohere to storm to the lead, pulling clear for an emphatic win.

Trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies said of the winner: "He had a busy autumn where he was struggling for a distance and he's only been beaten in big handicaps giving a lot of weight.

"I suppose we'll have to look at the Gold Cup now, although if he doesn't win another race this season we'll still be happy. He'll be entered for all the big handicaps too, and the National."
