Outsider Look Here romps home in the OaksFiled on 6 Jun 2008 @ 15:21
The Ralph Beckett-trained Look Here (Hernando - Last Look, by Rainbow Quest) sprang a 33-1 surprise when running out a clear winner of the Juddmonte Oaks at Epsom on Friday. The Hernando filly had beaten Doctor Fremantle by two and a half lengths on her debut at Salisbury last season before finishing second to Miracle Seeker in the Lingfield Oaks Trial, when she hadn't looked to handle the hill too well. The market principals had all threatened at the top of the straight with Chinese White poised off the lead set by Adored and the Musidora winner Lush Lashes also prominent. As they went to the lead, Seb Sanders pressed the button on Look Here and gained an immediate response as the filly swept to the front and galloped strongly to the line. Aidan O'Brien's Moonstone ran on well for second and the Aga Khan's lightly raced Katiyra took third, recovering well after looking uncomfortable coming down the hill. Look Here is by Hernando, who is also the sire of Casual Conquest, supplemented for tomorrow's Derby. He stands at Lanwades Stud in Newmarket alongside Selkirk, the sire of today's Group Three Diomed Stakes winner Blythe Knight. Filed on 6 Jun 2008 @ 15:21
