The Peter Rau-trained Saddex (Sadler's Wells - Remote Romance, by Irish River), a Group One winner in his native Germany, narrowly beat the Michael Jarvis-trained Pressing to win the Group One Premio Presidente Della Repubblica at the Capannelle in Rome on Sunday.

Last year's arc sixth had an advantage of a head at the line. Freemusic was a further two and a half lengths adrift in third.
