Sarrera (Quest For Fame - Zamsong, by Zabeel) was a surprise 50-1 winner of the Group One Queen Elizabeth Cup in Sydney on 3 May. Sent off this time at 7-1 he followed up on Saturday in the Group One Doomben Cup over 2020m, once more saving ground on the inside and going on to a dominant win.

Rampant Lion and Like It Is set a searching early pace. 600m out Like It Is retreated leaving Rampant Lion in front. Sarrera came strongly under Damien Oliver, however, and scored decisively. Rampant Lion held on well for second and Like It IS, having looked like she was going to finish last at one point, rallied to take third.
