Second Scarborough Stakes for Galeota

The Richard Hannon-trained six-year-old Galeota (Mujadil - Refined, by Statoblest) made it four wins from four starts at Doncaster when winning the Listed Scarborough Stakes on Wednesday for the second consecutive year.

Ridden by Ryan Moore, Galeota, who was retired to stud in 2006 but proved infertile, prompting his return to the track, beat Loch Verdi by three quarters of a length.

The Diadem Stakes at Ascot is the likely next target, though Galeota does hod an entry in the Portland Handicap on Saturday, for which he would have to carry a 6lb penalty.
