Fabre filly improves to Deauville Group Three win

Twelve three-year-old fillies lined up for the Group Three Prix Minevre over 2500m at Deauville on Thursday, and it was Sheikh Mohammed's homebred Synopsis (In The Wings - Epitome, by Nashwan) who showed she is on the upgrade with an emphatic win.

Synopsis raced midfield under Staphane Pasquier as Mrs Lindsay cut out the early running. Brought wide on the turn in, Synopsis produced a strong run to the line, a length and a half ahead of the favourite Darsha in second.

Synopsis is trained by Andre Fabre, for whom this was her fourth start. She won a maiden in April before finishing a disappointing sixth behind Van Gosh in the Listed Prix de Thiberville last month. Her dam, Epitome, is out of a half sister to Hector Protector and Bosra Sham.

Cicerole wins Prix de Lieurey

The Listed Prix de Lieurey over a mile was won by the late Guy de Rothschild's Cicerole (Barathea - Uryale, by Kendor), trained by Jean-Claude Rouget.

The daughter of Barathea raced close to the pace for Christophe Lemaire before making a decisive move in the final furlong that saw her power home. Turfrose ran on well from the rear to finish second.
