Stallion statistics: Aldebaran

The Christian von der Recke-trained four-year-old Tarkheena Prince (Aldebaran) ran out a convincing winner of the Listed Langer Hamburger over 3200m on Tuesday evening, beating last year's winner Limatus by five lengths. Brisant was a further length adrift in third.

A 20,000 gns Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale graduate, Tarkheena Prince is a half brother to Listed winner Coimbra and Group Two-placed Clerical Error out of an unraced half sister to Grade Two winner Heron Cove. The second dam Comtesse de Loir was champion three-year-old in France and won the Group One Prix Saint-Alary and was second four times in Group Ones including the Prix de Diane, the Vermeille and the Arc.

This is the first European stakes winner of the year for Aldebaran, who has three winners from only nine runners in Europe so far.
