Third Listed win for DansantFiled on 23 Feb 2008 @ 17:54
The Gerard Butler-trained Dansant (Dansili - La Balagna, by Kris) won the Listed Winter Derby Trial Stakes over 1m 2f at Lingfield on Saturday, being held up by Jamie Spencer and making progress a furlong out to grab the lead late on, beating Dubai's Touch by a head. Baylini was a length adrift in third. Dansant was sent off the 11-10 favourite following wins on his favoured Polytrack at Listed level on his final two starts of 2007, in the Floodlit Stakes and the Wildflower Stakes, both at Kempton. Earlier, Clive Brittain was on the mark in the six furlongCleves Stakes with seven-year-old Excusez Moi (Fusaichi Pegasus - Jiving, by Generous), adding to the good form of his age group after Bluefields won his first Listed contest at Cagnes sur Mer this afternoon. Excusez Moi settled last off a strong pace and made good progress under Liam Jones to take the lead at the furlong marker, being driven out to beat Ceremonial Jade by a length and a half in course record time. Ezcusez Moi has not won since taking the Great St Wilfrid handicap in July 2006, though he was twice placed in Listed company last year. Filed on 23 Feb 2008 @ 17:54
